Abstract

WaveMaker is an open-source framework for Visual AJAXTM web development. WaveMaker uses drag and drop assembly to create database-driven, web applications. WaveMaker applications are standard Java WAR files based on open-source components, including Spring, Hibernate, JSON and Dojo. WaveMaker makes visual Ajax easy. Well suited to novices and pros alike, WaveMaker helps more people create web-applications without any scripting knowledge and then team with developers who can easily add HTML, CSS, Java and Javascript to meet business critical deadlines. WaveMaker utilizes over 30 different open source projects and the employees are key contributors to the Dojo project.

Who should use WaveMaker?

Anyone who thinks Java web application development is too complicated should use WaveMaker. Additionally, anyone who would like to simplify JavaScript development should use WaveMaker. As WaveMaker is a visual AJAX tool, it is also great for developers who have used Visual Basic, MS Access, PowerBuilder, Lotus Notes and other visual development tools.
