Abstract
TCP is the best known of the Internet transport protocols. A new
transport protocol, SCTP, is ready to join the team. Stream Control
Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is, at its core, a reliable,
message-oriented, multihomed transport protocol. Originally developed
to carry telephone switching information (SS7 over IP), SCTP has
evolved into a protocol suitable for any service uses message or wants
to take advantage of multihoming.
This presentation will provide information for people who might need
to design or develop SCTP-based systems, and for those who might want
to contribute the the Linux kernel implementation effort.
