We'll also talk about how to make your way through the layers of thicket while being wary of the vermin: the basics of TCP/IP and just why you must protect yourself with a netmask; and how to troubleshoot your network problems when your trusty network administrator isn't nearby.
Previously Mike was Senior Technology Consultant for Ameritech Electronic Commerce. He designed and deployed the data centers and the TCP/IP LANs and WANs for EC projects including Ameritech's Regional Health Information Networks (RHINs) in several U.S cities.
Mike has been supporting Novell and Unix servers and networks for over 10 years in a series of positions at firms including VideOcart, A.C. Nielsen, AT&T Bell Labs, (balloonist Steve) Fossett Corporation and US Robotics.
He has presented on data communications topics previously at Uniforum Chicago, continuing the practice started when he was a member of the Chicago Osborne Group in the 1980's. When you spotted the gold mustang with the TCP IP license plate it was Mike behind the wheel.
