AJAX is the coolest new thing on the block. It truely does shift the web paradigm to the benefit of more feature-rich applications and usability. Perl and JavaScript make excellent bedfellows when taking advantage of this new technology. We'll be looking specifically at Perl, JSON, and JavaScript for this crash-course.
The speaker wants attendees to bring their laptops with web development environment along with them to the meeting. He wants to provide a workshop-type presentation for those that want to follow along real-time. The room provided by IIT-Rice has support for WiFi internet connections.

At the traffic light, turn left onto Naperville Road and continue north for 1\275 miles to Rt. 56/Butterfield Road.
