Abstract
Stephe will discuss the design objectives, implementation timetable and
future direction of OpenNT. OpenNT is a complete POSIX environment for
Microsoft Windows NT. Stephe will also discuss Softway's relationship
with Microsoft.
Topics that will be covered at the meeting include:
- how to port UNIX software to NT; that software can consist of shell
scripts, C programs, or any POSIX compliant language.
- how to use the UNIX programming environment on NT (character or X-based).
- trends in open systems standards.
Speaker Bio
Stephe Walli is the VP of R&D and one of the founders of Softway Systems. He
is also the author of "Going Solo" a book about the single UNIX
specification. Stephe has been a consultant to X/Open, worked with both MKS
and EDS in software engineering and management capacities. He continues to
represents USENIX at IEEE POSIX meetings while leading softway's development
efforts.

SRC building, near the entrance.
