Cellular Simulation on a Linux Supercluster

Michael J. North

Tuesday September 28th 2004 at 7:00pm
Wheaton, Illinois Institute of Technology - Rice Campus, Room 103

Abstract

The speaker will discuss how the Argonne "Jazz" Linux teraflops cluster is being used to simulate the simultaneous biochemical activities of hundreds of bacterial cells. Jazz is a scientific and engineering computing cluster with 350 2.4 GHz Pentium IV computers connected by both Myricom Myrinet and Fast Ethernet and over 20 TB of online storage. The current design and configuration of the Argonne "Jazz" Linux cluster will be discussed in the context of its use for large-scale scientific simulation.
