This presentation discusses Bacula, the open source backup software. It will cover installing, configuring and using Bacula. It will show how to fully make use of it's capabilities and about how to implement backup systems using 2TB of disk as backup media.

Hemant has worked with Distributed Computing, and Client/Server technology since 1989 when he joined a large government research laboratory, where he was part of the team that developed a distributed job scheduling system for batch processing on Unix systems.
In 1992 he joined a consulting firm where he helped a larger mortgage corporation migrate from a centralized mainframe based system to a distributed client/server RDBMS system.
Hemant has designed and successfully implemented many Client/Server projects. He has worked with many networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DECNET, SNA. He is also a co-author of X Windows System User's Guide, published by Artech House. He has also developed and taught training classes in Unix and Networking areas.
He joined LIDP in 1994 and has worked on and successfully completed several project for clients and internal to LIDP. The projects included RDBMS, SSH, openvpn, Bacula, C, Perl, and Java. He has worked on projects to migrate clients from Mainframe using VSAM to Unix using DB2 and Oracle. He has several years experience in administrating AIX and Linux operating systems. He has also designed and implemented, network infra structure and security. He has several articles in technical publications. He recently implemented open source bacula backup software with 2TB disk based backup system.

From the East or West: From I-88 (East-West Tollway), take the Naperville Road exit. At the traffic light, turn left onto Naperville Road and continue north for 1\275 miles to Rt. 56/Butterfield Road. Turn right onto Rt. 56/Butterfield Road and proceed 1/4 mile to the first traffic light (East Loop Road). Turn left on to East Loop Road, ( Phillip's 66 Gas station on the corner); the campus will be on your right about a block north of Butterfield Road, behind Cozymel's.
