This talk is a basic introduction to ATM technology. We will explore the differences between cell and frame based networks, present ATM terminology such as LAN Emulation (LANE), Classical IP, Virtual LANs (VLANs), and Quality of Service (QoS). Finally, the Pros and Cons of ATM networks are presented to give a basic understanding of TCP/IP LANs built using ATM.
He is an expert at designing, implementing, and administering large heterogeneous computing environments. He has solved complex network issues, and developed many applications and tools. He is currently working on-site at Motorola transitioning 600 servers from SunOS to Solaris.
Outside of work, David enjoys touring the country on his motorcycle, playing golf, and doing things with his family.
