DSLs (Domain Specific Languages) are gaining traction as a way to solve specific kinds of business problems. The dynamic nature of Groovy makes writing DSLs easier as compared to a more static language like Java. This presentation will focus primarily on a Real World Case Study in which a Groovy DSL was embedded in a Java SE application. It will provide some background about DSLs, including what a DSL is and why you might want to use one. It will also look at some of Groovy's built-in Builder DSLs as well as some of the language features of Groovy that take much of the pain out of writing DSLs.
